Pecan milk is newly reaching the health food scene, which is where I originally discovered it, and it has been growing in popularity ever since.
The few problems I found with the store bought version of the milk is that it is a little overpriced, and if had some unnecessary added sweeteners, however, it was a tasty drink, so I was inspired to make a version of my own.
I knew there was a way I could make a simpler pecan milk without all the added sweeteners, and it’ll be even better than the original. So I began experimenting with recipes of my own, and after a few less than successful batches, I’ve finally perfected the recipe.
It’s more creamy than almond milk or coconut milk, which makes it perfect for use in recipes, or a delicious addition to your homemade granola and cereal.
Just when you thought this milk couldn’t get any better, the health benefits will be have you craving this tempting beverage even more.
Pecans are an incredible source of the key essential nutrient responsible for keeping your immune system in top working condition along with ensuring your bone health, magnesium.
The best part is that the recipe is so easy that anyone can make this delightfully smooth beverage, now try it for your self…
Ingredients:
- 10 drops of vanilla cream stevia extract
- 1 quart of hot water
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup of pecans
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
This recipe starts by soaking the pecans in a large bowl filled with water over night, or no longer than 24 hours before using them. After the soaking, drain the water, and thoroughly rinse the pecans.
Next, put the pecans into a blender accompanied by the quart of hot water, and the salt. Now blend that together for about 3 minutes, or until the mixture becomes creamy.
Then let it sit for 2 minutes before pouring it through a fine strainer like a cheese cloth or huck towel over a wire mesh strainer into a glass pitcher or jar.
After all the milk has drained you can store it into your fridge for up to a week, and enjoy it in your coffee, cereal, or just as a refreshing treat on its own.
